Comprised of Graham Massey, Martin Price, and Gerald Simpson, 808 State gained international recognition for their innovative blend of house, techno, and electro sounds. Their debut album, "Newbuild," was released in 1988, followed by the critically acclaimed "Quadrastate" in 1989. The group achieved commercial success with their hit single "Pacific State" and continued to influence the electronic music scene with their pioneering use of Roland's TR-808 drum machine.
